A wooden spoon – with a difference

I’ve decided to upload an older piece today and as you may have guessed, it’s made from wood as opposed to bone china.

In one of the first weeks at university we were given a brief to make a wooden spoon, and from there we were allowed to be as creative as we wanted.

I aimed to create a spoon that made you want to pick it up, and to make it appear more playful when compared to the more traditional spoon.

The spoon itself is hand carved out of American Walnut and was pretty labour intensive as i’m sure you can imagine!
